A leap of faith

Our Journey Begins.

Initially founded as a golf bag brand, I travelled all the way to Guangzhou, China, to personally source products. I was met by my contact, who offered to take me for McDonalds, ‘No way’ I replied I’m happy to eat what you eat. I’m so glad I did, but I did decline the chicken feet!

It quickly became clear to me that the market in the UK was flooded with countless new brands and so I started to think of how we could offer something that should solve a problem. How to make customers stand out!

That’s when the idea for Fourteen Twenty-One took shape.

Instead of offering yet another brand, we set out to help businesses create their own brand. When clients would say, “We already have too many brands,” my response became, “We’re not offering you another brand. We’re here to create and sell your brand.”

This unique approach led to an overwhelming 90% of customers coming on board instantly, and I knew we had found our niche.

First we made a partnership with a premium apparel company Fenix XCell in Thailand, known for their outstanding quality—exactly the kind of partner we wanted for our clients.

Shortly after, we teamed up with a top-tier American custom headwear company Ahead, offering unbeatable style and craftsmanship. It was a perfect fit for our vision of quality and customisation.

Then came the leap of faith.

After spending five successful years in Dubai—working for some of the biggest brands in golf, meeting and marrying my wife during the quieter days of Covid, and welcoming our daughter Erin in 2021—we decided to leave behind a tax-free salary and a comfortable lifestyle.

Dubai had felt like Neverland, with its endless sunshine and opportunities, but we knew it was time for a change. I sold my Pajero, resigned from a job I loved, and got in a few last rounds of golf in the Sun.

We moved back, embracing a more modest lifestyle in a small home. With no salary and a second-hand car, we kept our expenses low and hit the road in a campervan, going door-to-door to find our first clients. That’s when things started to change.

Looking to the future

Within just five months of operation, we had successfully booked more than 10 of Scotland’s most prestigious golf clubs.

Our services resonated beyond the world of golf, and we’ve since expanded into corporate branding, helping distilleries, banks, and car companies share their unique stories with custom-designed products.

Today, Fourteen Twenty-One continues to grow and evolve. We don’t just offer products—we offer the opportunity for businesses to build their own brand story, crafted with the same attention to quality, customisation, and detail that launched us in the first place.
